Canva says Brazil is Its Second-Largest Market in the World. If Canva is Winning Big in Brazil, Why Isn't Your SaaS?
Articles
Canva just confirmed in its official 2025 Global Outlook that Brazil is its second-largest market in the world. If a $32B SaaS with 220M users is doubling down on Brazil with local leadership, education strategy and BRL pricing, why is your SaaS still treating Brazil as an afterthought? Did You Know Brazil Is a Top Market Globally for Canva, Netflix, Spotify, Duolingo, and CapCut?
Brazil is Netflix's #2 market in the world. It's Canva's #2 market. It's one of three countries competing for Duolingo's #3 spot. And it's a top download market for CapCut. Five of the biggest consumer SaaS and content platforms in the world have independently arrived at the same conclusion: when pricing and onboarding feel local, Brazilians invest heavily in digital tools.
The Proof, Country by Country
Netflix: Brazil is Netflix's #2 market in the world. According to Omdia, Brazil is Netflix's second-largest subscriber market globally with an estimated 20.6 million subscribers, behind only the US. Netflix doesn't publish exact country-level subscriber counts, so this is an analyst estimate — but it's a consistent one, and it's come from one of the most respected media research firms tracking the space.
Canva: Brazil is Canva's #2 market in the world. Canva's own 2025 Global Outlook confirmed this directly: Brazil is "home to a vibrant community of creatives, small businesses, and entrepreneurs." (We covered this in detail in our previous article.)
Duolingo: Brazil is fighting for the #3 spot. In Duolingo CEO Luis von Ahn's own words: "The largest market is the U.S. in terms of number of users. Second is China, and then third [place] oscillates between Brazil, the U.K., and Germany." Brazil isn't a guaranteed #3 — but it's consistently in the conversation for it, competing with two of the wealthiest countries in the world.
Spotify: consistently a top-tier market by usage. Spotify doesn't publish official country-level user numbers, but independent traffic analyses consistently place Brazil among its top markets globally, alongside the US and India.
CapCut: a top download market. According to SensorTower data (via Influencer Marketing Hub), the US, Indonesia, and Brazil are CapCut's top countries for App Store downloads. Other data providers using different methodologies (like SimilarWeb) show different top-country rankings — country rankings for CapCut vary by data source and by store (App Store vs. Google Play) — but Brazil shows up near the top consistently enough to matter.
Why Brazil Keeps Showing Up Near the Top
Three things explain why Brazil, independently, becomes a top-tier market for company after company that takes it seriously:
1. Scale in one language. Brazil has 183 million internet users, all reachable in a single language — Portuguese. Unlike Europe, where reaching a comparable audience means operating in 5+ languages and 5+ go-to-market motions, Brazil is one language, one playbook, at a scale bigger than any single European country.
2. A large, digitally engaged population with real spending power in aggregate. Brazil has 21M+ companies and a consumer base that already pays for Netflix, Spotify, Canva, and dozens of other subscriptions. The habit of paying for digital tools is already installed — the question for any new SaaS entering is whether it earns a place in that stack.
3. Local execution, not translation, is what wins. Every company in this list that succeeded in Brazil did it with local pricing (BRL), local payment methods (including Pix), and content or campaigns that don't feel imported. None of them treated Brazil as a checkbox on a translation widget.
The Opportunity for B2C and Prosumer SaaS
If you're a B2C or prosumer SaaS founder, the pattern across Canva, Netflix, Spotify, and Duolingo should change how you think about Brazil on your roadmap. It's not a "someday, maybe" market — it's a market where companies with the resources to be anywhere in the world have chosen to build dedicated local operations, and it's paying off for them.
Brazil's SaaS market is valued at $7.9 billion in 2025 and is forecast to reach $25.5 billion by 2034 — the fastest-growing SaaS region in the world sits largely inside this one country.
At Dolariz, we help B2C and prosumer SaaS founders go through the same process — using our 5-step method:
1. Opportunity Analysis — What Brazil is actually worth for your specific product: market size, buyer behavior, and the fastest path in.

3. GTM Planning — Local buyer profile, positioning, pricing in reais, launch plan.
4. Implementation — A fractional CMO takes the plan from paper to first paying customers.
5. Operation — Local team in place, operation scaled.

Where Would Your SaaS Rank?
Canva, Netflix, Spotify, and Duolingo didn't guess their way into Brazil's top tier — they sized the opportunity, built a real local operation, and let the results follow. You don't need their budget to start the same way. You need the same starting point: an honest, specific answer to what Brazil is actually worth for your product.
